The only way you could feed on demand is if you wore her, and with your back that may not be possible.
It's funny to me that you already have a 'schedule' for her. Hahahaha! Yeah, that didn't happen with Ryan!
Do what you gotta do mama, I'm so proud of you for doing what you're doing!

I pretty much schedule my own pee breaks. Sad but true ROFL I remember when I got my period back around 6 months and J was out of town and I felt I couldn't put Ryan down for any period of time...

Yea. We had a moment this evening... L was at the carnival with the big kids. And she slipped into one of her rare "omfg... I'm gonna freak out and have no clue why" moments. ..
While I'm attached to the pump... she's freaking out....and I'm like... ummm.
Ended up holding a duel pump on myself and trying to balance her on my shoulder ....Lol it was comical I'm sure

OK... random. But the leftie quit producing out of nowhere yesterday. And I mean went from ounces to a dead stop. The top of my breast is sore like I've been punched in it. I thought mastisis (sp?) Originally, as I've never had it and wasn't sure what it would entail. But my breast isn't red and engorged, I'm not Ill with fever or anything. My "symptom" isn't severe enough basically.
So, next logical option would be a clogged gland. But other than breast soreness and tenderness my symptoms just don't fit. Baby won't latch on that side for anything and has less issues with the right.
I'm just confused here. And also ...my tit fucking hurts. Any insights?

My advice is to keep trying her on that breast, and keep trying to pump. My only experience with a clogged duct was a lump that was painful and I had fever.

I've had mastitis. It was awful. I think there are varying levels of severity. No production, very sore, mine was super red, nursing hurt like hell, and I was sick. I'm one of those people who runs hot. I was freezing. Freezing. Three shirts, a coat, sweatpants, heavy socks, three blankets, and a stocking cap and was still shivering. Fever of 103°.
However, it came on super fast. If you suspect it, I'd get checked just in case. It might be a plugged duct, too. Warm compress, hot shower, keep nursing. But if you get that fever, go sooner rather than later!!
Feel better, girl. Hope it's just a clog and goes away quickly!

Me too. I'm so disappointed in the lack of production I was doing so well. and dammit having your tit hurt sucks.

I have worked out clogs in a hot shower. It hurts, but not as much as latching. I just let the water run over it, massaged the area that was hard, and kept trying to express. I've used hot towels, too. Stay with it. You're gonna want to do it sooner rather than later. I'm not sure it'll go away on it's own. :-(

Oh, and production is just supply and demand. As long as bebe wants food, boobies will try to make it. The hardest part is just nursing through the pain. And yeah, it doesn't hurt, it FUCKING HURTS!!!

It's somewhat better today. I was able after multiple pump attempts to get about one bottles worth. Which is better than yesterday where I got Nada. Just gonna keep trying. Boob still aches a bit but it's somewhat less sharp.

Sigh. Aaand two week checkup didn't go so well. Lil mama has only gained six ounces since her last weight check... and is barely an ounce past her birth weight. We go back for another weight check next week because despite seeming otherwise healthy and have grown almost two inches doc says that is not nearly where she should be. I have to up her to every three hours instead of the four she seems to prefer. I have to try and get a minimum of another ounce in her per feeding, and if I want to not wake her up at night I need to squeeze another bottle during the day somewhere. He doesn't want to discourage breast milk but says we have to get more calories in her

He doesn't want to discourage breast milk but says we have to get more calories in her I'm not a doctor and I'm not going to tell you what to do, but it's just odd to me that he's worried about her weight gain. So she's gained 6 oz in a week or has it been 2 weeks? Here is my opinion, and take it for what it's worth--only an opinion. You can tell me to fuck off if you want. Breastfed babies don't gain as fast, they also don't tend to sleep as much because breastmilk digests faster than formula so you HAVE to feed on demand, especially at this point, spacing it out for scheduling purposes isn't an option in my opinion. If you're supplementing with formula, but mostly she's getting boob juice, it could be causing her to sleep more than if she were on breastmilk alone therefore lowering her caloric intake. I know your time is precious, you have other children to take care of, so my suggestion would be to continue to pump and even nurse if she will and add the breastmilk to the formula, until you run out or just decide that pumping sucks (because it SUCKS!). That way, she's getting the calories from the formula but also some of the breastmilk and then her weight shouldn't be an issue. I never had a problem, I don't remember how much weight Ry lost after he was born, he was skinny, scrawny little legs and all, but after a month or two of exclusively nursing he was a FAT baby. His face and legs were preciously chunky. But that was MY experience. But I've also been 'scolded' for him being small for his age--his current pediatrician is an asshole but she made comments. He's not a big kid, he's not going to be, his parents aren't big people. Do what you need to do mama.

It's been two full weeks and she's only gained six ounces he says I'm doing everything right we've just gotta up the anty because she was already tee tiny. It's not so much about size he says as they are watching her metabolism. Slow weight gain can be indicative of other problems or something. Just got me worried about her. And I'm pumping for all I'm worth. (We are still trying to get my supply back up from it's freakish drop) and she's getting more formula than booby juice these last two days because I was usually only a bottle or two ahead of her and I had i day and a half of no milk to speak of :/
