All 3 kids had an audition today for a play. The notice that came home very clearly said K-9 kids were welcome to try out. I dropped the kids off and went to the store, I was there for less than 5 minutes when I get a call from one of the other moms saying that Patrick was not allowed to audition because his 5th birthday isn't until Nov, so he's too young, so I quickly finished my groccery shopping and picked him up. I'm trying to not be mad, and Patrick doesn't seem to care, and if he'd auditioned and just didn't get a part because he was to immature I'd be cool, but I feel lied to.

Yeah, I'd be irritated, it's either K-9 or it's X age to X age. Be clear, it's not that hard!

Exactly. I'm just glad I live in a small town where I always have an extra pair of eyes (or 6 lol) on my kids so when shit like this happens it's not an emergency that I left the school, but I should have had an easy hour to go shopping in and I'm irritated that I had to be called to pick up my kid when he should have had an equal chance to participate as any other kid in his class.

That would piss me off. He's K, the flyer said K, they can bite it. Next time, print what you mean assholes. He also could have just hung around to be a helper. Little kids love that stuff.

Exactly. And honestly, had you just left him there and said hey, you said K, so I'll be there in an hour, that should be fine.

The flyer also said the auditions would be over by 5:30, but rehearsals go until 8:30. It's now 6:10. I assumed today was just auditions and my kids would be home by 5:30, now I'm wondering if they got parts and have a rehearsal until 8:30, in which case I didn't send thhem with their bagged supper, because that fucking flyer was so unclear.

So both Sarah and Kaleb got a part. Kaleb's rehearsal is from 6-8 tonight, he's had no supper and I had no schedule in advance to know I should have sent one with him. The only reason I know what's going on is because Sarah came home with a schedule after her rehearsal ended. I'm happy my kids got parts and a, but I'm not super impressed with this whole procedure.
