So, I posted that one of my biggest feels about not having Mom around anymore is no one to talk to or brag about the kids to. Those brags will be going here. You don't have to read 'em if you don't wanna. Just a place I can share.
G wants to write a "Surfer's Children's Book": A, dude! B, dude! C, dude! E, dude! Dude! I totally spaced D! D is for "duh"!

We were watching "The Martian" last night. They count time in sols instead of days. Took me 15 minutes to realize that sols were Martian days, because they seemed to coincide pretty closely with Earth days. Easy problem to work out in our house.
"Gram, how long is a day on Mars?", I shout.
"It's complicated," he shouts.
"Why?"
He comes in. "A day by stars or by sun? They're different. Both planets rotate on an axis".
"Um, Sun?"
"39 minutes 35 seconds longer than an Earth day." <short pause> "But their year is almost 300 days longer and their gravity is like 1/3 of ours," he says. Walks away.
Chuck grabs his laptop. "Betcha $100 he's right," I said. Closes laptop. "No bet".
The boy knows his Science.

Gram is watching Looney Toones this morning, turns to me and says,
Some scientists use the Omega symbol to represent infinity. Then they use omega+1, omeaga+2, omega+3, etc. What's interesting to me is that, given that it's infinity, all those numbers really represent the same thing. Like, if you finish a race, and an omega amount of people finish before you, what does that mean, and is it even possible? Mom, look!! Pepe le Pew!
Mornings at my house.
