OK. So the doctors warned me that post the tubal ligation my periods would be for all intents and purposes.... fucking awful by normal comparison. I got my first one last month and while it was far heavier than normal (my anemia hit me like....WHOA) I didn't notice any unusual cramping. But my lower back was in an awwwful amount if pain (I seem to KEEP kidney infection since having this child. I can't even lie it's the energy drinks. I pound them back like most people do soda. I know I need to quit.)
I digress.
The hormones. Y'all. It used to be a little weepy, need some extra chocolate... maybe a headache here and there.
Now? I'm like fucking she hulk. And weepy. And achey. and i don't even start for another week.
I feel like I should call my doctor because the PMS seems really extreme. Bouts of depression mixed with temper followed by short lived but over exuberant good mood.swings.
Is this shit normal?!?!?

No idea, ma'am. I don't see how a tubal ligation would effect hormone production, but anything is possible.
Can you have your levels checked?

That happened to me after I got sober and healthy and was off BCP. I had been off since G, but everything else was so outta whack that I could attribute my crazy to a variety of things.
PMS was out of control. I literally felt controlled by emotions. Then the wonky baseball size clot fest periods started two years ago. I have adenomyosis. Doc said hysterectomy. "Or we could try birth control pills but they probably won't work". Was shocked as hell that I opted for the pill. I guess most women get pretty psyched about having a hysterectomy. Not me.
Long story, but I'm normal again. Heh. I usually skip all my periods now. I'm completely ignoring impending menopause. Not ready.
Anyway, yes. Hormones can be a bitch. And make you one, too.

I'm with Abby, I'd let my doc know. I think bcp pills are used to help regulate hormones sometimes, too.

Yea. Will they even prescribe me bcp since my tubes are tied? They can if it will help. My script has nothing to do with preventing pregnancy. Chuck is neutered - seems like the same thing to me. |
