My kids are being difficult. B- Xbox one. That shit ain't happening. We are tightening the belts on Christmas because... New baby soon. His second choice was a laptop. No. You don't use the computer we have ever and you have a tablet with unlimited WiFi. You don't need another device to play clash of clans or watch porn on. Third choice- iPhone. Here. Have some gift cards? L- everything she's asked for my mom bought her on sale in like June. She's not asked for anything else and can't think of anything. I'm stuck with no ideas. G- see above. Other than her own room and a shrine for her blanket and maybe self washing hair she's given me nothing to go on. P- That thing. Because... She needs more ways to smash things. It's been out of stock everywhere online ive checked the last two weeks. I'll be checking Houston stores. What have your kids asked for? I feel ... Uninspired. This Christmas.

I blame my mother's spoiling in this. Lol the second the girls mentioned ANYTHING this summer she fired up the amazon prime and had her Christmas shopping done before they went back to school. The girls are getting new tablets, books, clothes. P is getting an ENTIRE COLLECTORS EDITION set of 12' avenger dolls from them because "target only had one left and they were on sale 50% off. Had to baby ."
Sigh grandparents of the year = mom and dad are stuck struggling even for the few gifts we were planning. No idea.

All my daughter asked for this year was a pack of Pokemon cards. She's really given me nothing at all to go on. I ended up getting her a Bulbasaur planter from Etsy: And then I was all out of ideas. I also ended up getting her a charm locket with a couple of charms. Then she's always been fascinated by this big cat book that they have in the waiting room at the therapists, so we got her that. Hubby found the kids these V-Tech smart watches. They looked like fun, so we got those for both kids. WeeMan is a lot easier. He likes the Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems, so we get him at least one on every occasion (there are quite a few of those things). He's also into action figures, so he's getting a set of PacMan action figures. And that about does it for us, other than some stocking stuffers.

Same here. Except A is (almost) 19. 19 year-old girls are waay easier than 9 year old girls. Fashion. Make up. Handbags. There's a morbid Christmas sweater she wants.
Eli - I have everything I need and want. BUT, my motto is, "giftcards, when you care enough to give more than just cash."
G wants a wii u, but I have to reconcile my long-standing opposition to game consoles with my love of the emotional payoff of watching them open something they really get excited over.
We do all our present opening with the whole family, at once. The way I see it,if they get what they want from someone other than mom & dad, not only do we save money, but in 20 seconds they forget who they got it from, anyway.

Ryan LOVES Piggy and Elephant books! The Wii is fun, I have to admit. Get the resort sports games, we enjoy playing bowling together as a family.

The Wii is fun, Get the resort sports games, we enjoy playing bowling together as a family. We do have a wii (a gift), and we have that game. But for me, Wii sports is the go-to. We're playing it every day now that the weather is cold. And Gram beats me 99.9% of the time. Brat.

Oh cool! Yeah, I bought the wii a couple of years ago yet had no idea that the Wii U would take over and this one won't have new games for it. It's really fucked up how they do that.
