I've fallen way behind, everyone. I'm just now getting to the part where Jon meets Sam. Today, I've carved out time to catch up as best I can. Where are you all at?

I haven't read a damn thing. I read all the books a year ago and rewatched the show when Colin decided to watch it for the first time a couple of months ago, but even though I said I would, I haven't been able to bring myself to reread the books. I figured I'd just comment along by memory haha

I read all the books a year ago and rewatched the show when Colin decided to watch it for the first time a couple of months ago, but even though I said I would, I haven't been able to bring myself to reread the books. I figured I'd just comment along by memory haha That makes me feel a lot better. I've just had the craziest time since I got back to work and haven't had a second to read or an available brain cell to help me focus. What I'm finding as I'm reading is that there were quite a few plot points that I missed watching the show. It's probably because of my horrible habit of multitasking while watching TV. I can't just sit still and watch a show. Ever. For example, I just finished the part where Ned tracked down Gendry. I didn't realize that Ned had ever run across the king's kid. Is that part in the show, and I missed it, or did they leave it out?

That's part of the show, Gendry is part of how Ned understands what John Arryn means by the seed is strong.

That's part of the show, Gendry is part of how Ned understands what John Arryn means by the seed is strong. Exactly. It's how he figures out why and how John's death was so mysterious. (Though the books shed details on that. No spoilers Lol) I have not has time to read up. But I will go to the library tomorrow and catch up

After I get done with this book, I'm going to have to watch the shows again. And actually watch it this time. ...she says, while ignoring the show that's currently on

If memory serves me correctly (and it often doesn't) the first season follows the book almost as perfectly as a show can, but subsequent seasons stray a lot more, to the point where I quit watching the show the first time around because it was pissing me off at how inaccurate it was

Season three on shit gets squirly. Truly. Its completely off point to where now George is gonna have to write the next two books to follow the show. After this last season I consider them separate entities and try to enjoy them as such.
