I have, I think, all the obvious stuff packed. Clothes, underwear, bathing suits, extra shoes, tampons, razors, electronics and chargers...
What obscure item(s) am I missing for a family of 5 in Anaheim for 10 days?

Hmmm. Only thing I always travel with no matter what is benadryl or some sort of indoor/outdoor allergy meds. Never know when some old lady wearing a garish perfume will ruin your day. Lol

Non of us have any allergies, thank goodness, but it might not hurt to grab some gravol or something, not that we've needed it before, but there's always a first time for everything

I always take disposable dinnerware. There's never enough cups, and the ones that are there are glass and not kid friendly. If you ever wanna order in a pizza or something, it's nice to have paper plates and napkins.

We're actually renting a fully stocked house. It's supposed to sleep 17 and there's only 9 of us, so I'm hoping there ought to be enough dishes. But I do that every time we use a hotel too!
Sunscreen and hats! I did not pack those yet

Sunscreen, unless you were planning on getting it there...but make sure you have it. Hats, unless you want to buy them there.

When you get to Anaheim, you may want to buy some water and snack food. You can take a bottle of water and some snacks into the park, and we did just to save time and money.

I keep having to talk myself out of packing mitts, toques, and jackets. Warm weather just doesn't feel real to me yet. I'm so excited for a Halloween without snowsuits

Leave all that crap behind! We didn't even need the sweaters we packed for the show at night.

We should get to the house about 3pm and the plan is for 1/3 of the adults to go to the park and pick up the tickets, 1/3 of the adults to take the kids swimming in the pool, and 1/3 of the adults to go to the grocery store to pick up food /snacks/booze (I'm totally volunteering for the grocery, I get a huge giggle buying booze in a regular store)
Question. Is it a stupid idea to make the kids bring their own backpacks to the park with water /snacks /hoodie etc? Ordinarily I always make the kids carry their own shit, but if I'm going to just end up holding everything for them because they can't put it somewhere safe when they're on a ride, then I might as well just pack my own backpack and dance myself the hassle of carrying an extra 3 bags

I ended up being the 'family pack mule.' I did not enjoy it. That said, I'm not sure it's a good idea. You'll be in a frenzy getting off the rides quickly, which increases the likelihood that something gets left behind. You'll be doing a lot of walking, the kids'll probably get tired quickly and you'll end up carrying everything anyway.
Meh, I wouldn't.
