I remember when I was in my early 20's and so full of myself I got extremely frustrated at someone driving under the speed limit. I tailgated, flashed lights, probably blew the horn. When I turned off into my neighborhood they slowed and turned in behind me and followed me. Scared the shit out of me. I can't understand getting so bent about a traffic situation that one would want to do something that could kill--whether it be with a firearm or just using their own vehicle as a weapon. Did y'all see the story about the guy who swerved to hit a passing motorcycle? If someone is going to drive like a dick, let them, let them get past you and get the hell away from you. It's just not worth it.

That guy was a dick. Sure the guy on the hog shouldn't have changed lanes on a double yellow, but that does NOT mean it's ok to attempt to kill people. Jeez.

I have never been an aggressive driver and have only honked my horn at someone once, because they were trying to merge into me. B, on the other hand will honk, flip off, swerve at people, tail them. He's not quite so bad as he was, but he'll still try to engage other drivers from time to time. It's the one thing that I will relentlessly nag him about, because I'm in the car too and I don't feel like getting shot in the face by a psycho because he picked the wrong damn car to fuck with. I assume everyone is a gun toting maniac and he should too.  At least he stopped doing it altogether when the kids are in the car. One time, I got so mad that I told him to pull over and the kids and I would just take a cab home and that we'd never be in a car he was driving again. That must have sunk in. Get killed on your own time, buddy! |

J gets too aggressive in my opinion, too. I will yell at him when he does it. He gets frustrated over the dumbest things and he's in a big truck and I don't think he understands how intimidating that can be. I think I finally got through to him when I explained how anxious and stressed it makes me when other people do it to me, in my sedan, with out KID in the backseat. It's not ok, I can only go as fast as the car in front of me allows, crawling up my ass is not ok. The fact of the matter is if someone rear ends me, Ry gets it first. Once I put it that way he seems to have backed off.
It's just not worth it. You never know what someone else is capable of. If someone is speeding and weaving, let them get by you, what if their wife is labor or their child is in the hospital? Let them go. And if they're just being a dick driver they probably could care less about the safety of anyone else on the road. Let them go.
