Hearing some of my favorite songs re-imagined by other talented artists makes my day. Even better, when they can take a song I really don't like and turn it into something I can't stop listening to.
Goofy as hell, but I love it. Not a huge fan of this song otherwise.
Sorry Horsey, but I still like this song, and this cover is the best. Cristina Scabbia is my second favorite female singer of all time. (Just don't watch the video...it's fucking horrible.)
Absolute favorite female singer of all time: Ann Wilson. This video's been making the rounds and I'm glad to see it, because this woman should always be singing something. She absolutely owns this song. "Robert Plant, you failed this song, it's mine now." - Ann Wilson (not really, but in my head, totally)
I never really took Cyndi Lauper seriously as a singer until I heard this.
Favorite male singer: Chris Cornell. His cover of Billie Jean is amazing and lends a weight to the lyrics that make more sense to the subject of the song.
And then there's my other guy.
Honorable mention:
If you guys can find Pearl Jam's cover of "I Won't Back Down" live from Vancouver (May 2003), give it a listen. I tried to find it, but it's either not on the net, or I quit a minute before finding it. All the other versions are okay at best, but that one is fantastic.
