Sitting in my mom's room watching Sleeping Beauty. Amara used to watch this movie incessantly when she was 2-ish. One of my favorite memories is being at the grocery store when Amara was 2, and Eli was a baby. Some random stranger was admiring Eli, when Amara stood up in the cart, peered down at Eli and dramatically raised her finger in the air and shouted, "Now you shall deal with ME, O Prince, and all the powers of HELL!"
That poor lady walked away silently, and I was laughing too hard to explain to her that it was what Maleficent says to the Prince. We got a few eyebrow raises from other shoppers, too. None of them were Disney buffs, I guess. It brings me some joy to wonder what the hell they actually thought was going on at our house.
