And I also love Tyrion!!! And Jaime because Tyrion loves Jaime. Despite what he narrates.

I for real want to do this, but I can't start until after this coming up week & next weekend. I have a stupid insurance class all next weekend (even Sunday ) and I have to study and finish reading the course books. But I will totally start it with you guys after.
Maybe in chunks? Or pick a page # to go up to & then we discuss? Idk, it's tough because everyone has a different pace. I do love that we all have the same picture of each character in mind, thanks to the show.
Sugarless, I love Jamie too. And I love Briann of Tarth!

I can start whenever. Unless anyone else has conflicts, why don't we agree to start the week that works for Noodle. When I get home, I'll look at the books and see what the chapters and sections look like and make a suggestion for discussion pacing. If any of you have a better handle on that already, have at it.

The way I see it, we could do a couple of things here. We could go chapter by chapter and discuss it. The chapters are pretty darn short, so we would probably want to have discussions more frequently if we did that. Daily, or every other day probably. I would do this if it works better for pacing. Otherwise, in the paperback version that I have, I was able to section off chapters that were in the neighborhood of 100 pages in each chunk. Some a bit more, some slightly less, but about that. I was thinking that we could read these sections of chapters for the week and then discuss them starting on a specific day, and for the remainder of that week while we're reading the new section. It would give us a chance to really get into the story, but not too much of it that we forget the first parts that we read. I think it would also help in case some of us get bogged down during the week and find that we don't have as much time as we'd like to read. The schedule would look something like this, to give you an idea: Week 1 - read Prologue-Tyrion (approx page 92 - depending on how your book was printed); begin discussion Sat. (or whenever, really) Week 2 - continue discussing Prologue-Tyrion; read Jon-Eddard (page 202); begin discussion of this new section on Sat. And then so on. Which would you all prefer, or is there another option that works better?

I like the slightly larger chunks option, but I'm cool with whatever

In case it wasn't obvious that's the way I was also leaning. Personally, if I have a rough couple of days, then I won't have to worry about getting behind. I'll start on a schedule, assuming that Noodz also doesn't like only reading 10 pages at a time . Now we just need to decide which day works best for beginning discussions. I said Saturday in the example, just because today is Saturday. I don't actually care.

My personal vote would be Tuesday mornings lmao, that's my time to hang out on the computer uninterrupted, but I doubt it'll be a popular time slot so I'll go skiing with whatever haha

I work mornings M-F and some Saturdays, so it makes no difference to me. I'll just chime in when I can on lunch or after work.

I've never been involved in a book club before, so I wanted to make sure -- logistics-wise -- that we weren't overlooking something that would make this work well. I ran across a website that offered this gem: Do you guys mind if we don't....?
