And we are max coverage on everything I THINK. L insists on it for this very reason. Big vehicles do big damage.

You are absolutely right about the big vehicles. You do need to consider that, and most people don't - so good job.
Yeah, liability insurance is pretty much associated with, "minimum coverage", and then forgotten. If I was your agent, I'd have explained all this to you when I called you after your accident. If you didn't file a claim with your insurance, you should.
Don't panic! This stuff happens all the time. Lawsuits are scary for individuals, but that's what insurance companies do all day long.

Do you have rental car coverage on your insurance?

Do you have rental car coverage on your insurance? We do. It only pays for $30/day for 10 days. We will employ it as an absolute last resort after they decide IF my car is repairable. If he is fixable but it's gonna take a bit I may end up in a rental car for a few weeks. I filed a claim Friday night when we got home from the hospital Abs. They assigned me an adjuster out of Houston who only works Tues-Sat 9-4 :/ so of course she called me Saturday in the middle of a wedding. I have left several messages. Police report will be ready today. Municipal court said to contact them after 10 am. If I'm found at fault I will immediately be issued a citation. If not... she will. (She as given a citation for no proof of insurance at the scene. That can be pulled up on the internet so the cop was confident she didn't actually have it and if she did it was liability only) L made me feel better because even if for some reason our insurance and the medical coverage gets wonky....we have full medical on our whole family and I had a baby. Our deductibles are met. We will just be responsible for copays. Body shop says Tank is in good hands (an old high school friend owns it) and to come by any time to get my things and ask questions. This is kinda one of those situations where my truck will apparently be as damaged as I like it to be on that report. As he said on the phone this morning "I work for you. Not the insurance company. And there is no way and hell I'd want my wife in kids back in a truck that had been through that. And I'm damn good at my job C..." So. We will see. I'm feeling better and will likely feel more at ease as I get more information. Lack of knowledge has been the main cause of my anxiety all weekend

Her having liability only is all you need. Full coverage protects your car. Liability protects whomever you hit. So, as far as you're concerned, if she has liability, and is at fault - she pays.

I'm told the citation I would be issued would be "failure to control speed" . The same I received for my fender Bender 11 years ago. It's a $250 fine and an online defensive driving course should remove the points from my license since I don't have so much as a speeding ticket. My insurance will go up unless fault is found in my favor so the monetary differences between my fault and no fault are negligible.

But ftr ... it was totally this bitches fault. Lol I've had some gut check moments where I've questioned myself repeatedly this weekend. Because if she had a passenger they'd be dead.
But I have replayed that sequence of events in my head a million times. My light was as green as Penny gayles eyes. I looked at her....looked up at that light. Looked in my rear view at those girls and prayed in a matter of three seconds. That far right circle was lit up green biggest than shit.
There weren't even skid marks. I didn't have time to more than tap my brakes. The light had been steady green so long I was at cruising speed (30 mph)

Failure to control speed?? WTF is that? She ran a red light! I'll be very interested in what the police report says.

People are just now figuring out I'm picky.
As if it took my having to spend unreasonable amounts of money I don't want to to determine that.
GMC Chevy and Ford should be ashamed of themselves by the way

She called me literally ten minutes after I typed that. Statement given. Inspection tomorrow hopefully. (They are moving quickly now because I refused to release my vehicle until they give me a status and numbers on it's worth and we come to terms. It's not going to sit in a storage facility in Houston just because it's free for them. They work for me. My trucks staying here until they pay me for it)
Now the fun begins
